Captain Adrian Light
Spent 3 1/2 years in the Navy, mostly on patrol boats in Vietnam. After his discharge, he worked in the laborers and plumbers unions for six months before deciding to take the police exam. He joined the Omaha Police Department in late December 1971 and made his way through the ranks, becoming a sergeant in 1980 a lieutenant six years later and rising to captain in 1991. He headed the patrol division for six years before moving upstairs to the detective bureau. Light plans to retire in late 2007.

Detective Jeffrey Townsend
Graduated Central High School, and the University of Nebraska where he earned an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Criminal Justice.  Graduate of the Officer Training program 1992 Transferred to homicide in 1997 after receiving his third award for heroism. After 10 years on the force and 7 years as a Detective, Townsend has worked his way up to lead homicide detective with the Omaha Police Department.

Detective Samantha Warden
A graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder. She has an Bachelor of Arts degree in both Criminal Justice and Psychology. After graduating the academy she served 4 years as a patrol officer and received several commendations. She then served 2 years as an undercover officer in the Narcotics division where she received commendations for bravery and honor. After being promoted to detective she moved to the homicide division two years ago.

Special Agent Fitch
Born a perfectionist – Fitch is a woman with something to prove. Although she does take a little time on the side to enjoy life, Fitch’s career is her life. She lives it, breathes it, sleeps it, and will die for it. Graduating at the top of her class at Boston College and completing the FBI Academy, Special Agent Fitch joined the San Diego Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She’s received several medals during her tenure with the bureau. She’s had her failed cases, but overall she’s got a record that most tenured agents can only admire.

CSI
Certified by the International Association for Identification, Crime Scene Certification Board, Deb has been on the C.S.I. team in Omaha for 11 years. Responsible for complex crime scene investigations, the clock is ticking on this case and found her job to be extremely difficult with no significant clues to follow.

Tony Scott
Childhood friend of Detective Townsend, they graduated Officer Training together in 1992. With numerous commendations, he served as undercover narcotics team leader and has been involved in community policing—a practice in which an officer builds relationships with the citizens of local neighborhoods and mobilizes the public to help fight crime. Officer Scott recently accepted a promotion into homicide where he is expected to join Townsend and Warden with their current case.

Officer Fielding
Entered the force in 1974, officer Fielding has been hitting the streets for 32 years. With multiple commendations, metals and awards, Fielding refuses promotions stating “his job is on the streets”. In addition, he is leader of the Hero Scholarship Fund and Safety Education for school age children; the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program for 6th & 7th graders in Omaha schools and the Gang Resistance Education and Training.

Officer Beber
His law enforcement career began in 1999 as an officer for the Omaha police department. Beber holds a bachelors degree in Labor Relations from the University of Nebraska and is in the process of earning a Master’s Degree in Criminal justice. Currently officer Beber is on the board of the Victim Assistance Unit. Which Provides assistance to victims from on scene support to prosecution.


Gary Milhouse
44 and Editor of the Omaha Herald and Nebraska Fairways, a regional golf magazine. Since joining Omaha Herald in 1985, Milhouse has been a reporter, night city editor and opinion page editor. He began his career writing general interest stories in 1982. After graduating from Texas University, he covered news and sports for the Lincoln City Times. In Lincoln, he also was managing editor of the Star City News, a newspaper covering college Football.


Jessie Stillwater
After working on the high school newspaper and year book she was hooked. Straight out of high school Jesse was accepted as an intern for the Omaha Star. During her internship, Jessie attended the University of Nebraska where obtaining an undergraduate degree in journalism graduating in the top ten percent. After a few years as a general reporter for the Star, Jessie moved to the Omaha Herald where she has been active in numerous high profile stories with a remarkable knack for digging up the truth. 


Ryan Fletcher
Was the youngest in his family.  He grew up close to his grandfather and wanted to follow in his footsteps and become a nature photographer.  He graduated with honors at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Art degree with the emphasis in photography.  He currently works freelance for the Omaha Herald with the goal of being a photographer for National Geographic.

Michael Gerringer
Graduated from the University of Washington in 1992. After working for the Independent-Journal for three years he joined the San Francisco Chronicle in 1995. Nine months later he joined the Omaha Herald after breaking a case involving a car theft crime ring which brought 27 arrests involving over 20 cities.

Matt Seigel
Reporter for the CBS affiliate in Omaha was originally from Chicago, he graduated with honors from the University of Southern California, where he won several awards for his investigative, hard-hitting journalism. He enjoys finding the truth in life, on and off the job.

Matt’s Cameraman
The first time Dan picked up his parents video camera in high school he has been filming everything ever since. His interest in local news eventually led him to the CBS affiliate where he did an internship. After several years in the studio, he decided to take his talents out in the field. Dan is currently following Matt Seigel with on going coverage of the grizzly string of murders in Omaha.

Chelsea, a reporter
Grew up in a rural town in Illinois. With Diane Sawyer as her idol, she dreams of moving to New York City and work on Good Morning America. High school vice president and voted most likely to succeed she earned her degree in journalism from in Missouri. She did an internship at the local news station in St. Louis. Her current role is a reporter for the Omaha NBC affiliate station.

Katie, a reporter
Katie’s interest in News Media began in High School, where she took her first Journalism class and worked on the school paper. Fascinated by the power of the press and its protection by the First Amendment of our Constitution, Katie went on to Graduate in 1998 from University of Wisconsin where she achieved a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in History.

Natalie
Ryan Fletcher’s niece, Natalie has been working on a photography project for school and is currently learning technique. Her hope is to someday become a photo journalist like her uncle.
